900 students. Cedar Hill Elementary serves students K - 5th Grade
with 540 students.
Some of the other county schools are Elkmont High, East Limestone,
Johnson Elementary (Limestone County, Alabama); Giles County High,
Elkton Elementary and Lincoln County High (Giles and Lincoln County,
Tennessee.) There are many more schools available.
Visit our Veterans Memorial Walk (picture on home page) located at
the intersection of TN Hwy7, AL Hwy 251 and AL Hwy 53 by the
Railroad Tracks.
The Ardmore Public Library contains over 10,000 volumes and hosts
many special programs.
Most denominations of Protestant churches (Assembly of God, Baptist,
Church of Christ, Methodist, and Pentecostal) are located in
Ardmore.
Shoppers can find clothing, jewelry, antiques, floral items, gifts,
hardware, electronics, boots and shoes, and much more merchandise in
local retail stores. Two grocery stores, discount stores, and two
pharmacies serve the area.

There are two parks located within the city limits offering ball
parks, playgrounds, lighted tennis courts, lighted basket ball
courts, and two lighted walking tracks. Organized baseball,
softball, football and basketball leagues are available to all
children and youth through the Ardmore Athletic Booster Club.
Softball and baseball leagues for adults are also offered.
A friendly round of golf can be enjoyed at Southern Gayles Golf Club
located 8 miles south of town. Anyone wishing to enjoy a fishing
trip or other water sports will enjoy the beautiful Elk and
Tennessee Rivers - just 30 minutes away.
For those social or civic minded individuals, Ardmore has chapters
of Civitan International, Lions Club International and a Masonic
Lodge.
Ardmore is conveniently located near the Alabama and Tennessee
Welcome Centers. The Alabama Welcome Center (256-423-3891) serves a
home of a Saturn 1B rocket which was used for experimental purposes
by the Marshall Space Flight Center and is also the home of the
Alabama Vietnam Veterans' and Korean War Memorial. The Tennessee
Welcome Center (931-468-2555) is filled with helpful information and
assistance with tourism in the state of Tennessee. Both offer free
motel reservations.
